Eighteen Miles With Robin Williams

OK, so maybe I ran BY Robin Williams on the Brooklyn Bridge while he was filming something. Didn’t see the starlet he was acting with as her back was turned to me and I was entirely too cool to turn around and stare.

But this run, though? I took this run, tossed it on the bed and had my way with it. It was that good.

Two weeks ago, I struggled to finish 15 miles. Walking. Stopping. Feeling like dying in general. Today, 18 miles was like a Sunday stroll. Well, almost. Weather was definitely cooler and I was feeling better this week. And I ate about 16 pounds of food yesterday. So that helped.

I also love running over the Brooklyn Bridge and running the West Side of Manhattan. It’s just a beautiful run. Lots of scenery, both natural and manmade. And a lot of people to look at. (Including large roving packs of TNT Manhattan team.) I like scenery. Partly because I don’t run with music or anything else.

I think the only mile I struggled with was mile 17–cutting west through Manhattan and up the Brooklyn Bridge. I misjudged my out and back and finished at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge on the Brooklyn side and actually thought about running an extra mile home, but decided against it.
